ABOUT MEALHUB

MealHub.org is a non-profit platform that facilitates fund raising for local charities to order meals, from local independent restaurants, to feed the hungry in the communities they serve.

The pandemic has hit the food insecure hard, but, has also hit restaurants hard too.

​

Traditionally, food programs feed the hungry through non-for-profit kitchens. Where expensive kitchen appliances are donated, kitchen staff are volunteers, and operating costs are fund-raised. While this allows donations to feed many, it overlooks the thousands of local independent restaurants with idle kitchens, struggling to survive, during the pandemic.

Keeping local independent restaurants a float, keeps owners and their staff employed resulting on less strain on the food banks and food charities they serve in the end.

While the Meal Hub has yet to obtain charitable status, your donations are the primary funding source that allows local charitable agencies to purchase meals from local restaurants.
